Speaking with o2 today, their stance on the iphone unlocking saga is 'we don't endorse it, but we won't stop you either' - which I thought was an interesting view from a company that could potentially lose out if they do indeed have exclusivity.

Has it been confirmed that O2 is going to carrie the iPhone?? Im currently on O2 but I wanted to change to vodafone...
 
As far as rumors are concerned, it has been reported multiple times that o2 will carry it in the UK, Orange in France, and Tmobile in Germany. AFAIK, these partnerships might be announced "officially" this friday in Berlin (there is some kind of teleco expo or something).
 
I was in the UK a few weeks ago on a vacation. We made one phone call to the states for 3 minutes. In the upper left corner of the screen, my phone said O2UK which is the network it's on. Usually it says AT&T. So yes, I'd say O2 will be your network.
