and we have a other thread about this

That thread offers no useful information.

Reading through everything, Apple does love to make it as arsy as possible to claim the discount. Why on earth can’t they just discount it at the point of sale in the store?

Unfortunately, that's the idea. They rely on people not bothering to send it in, or doing something wrong, or sending it in late, and so can make the discount fairly large. On the bright side though, if it was an instore discount, it would be much lower because everyone would claim it. Hence, as long as you follow the instructions and send it in on time, you get much more off. :)

Ok it says in the FAQ

Can I purchase the qualifying products anywhere?

No, you must purchase at the following locations:

* Apple Retail Store (UK Only)
* Call 0800 039 1010 (UK) or 1800 92 38 98 (Ireland)
* Apple Online Store for Education Individuals

Just to verify as i'm not sure can the offer be used in the Apple store for higher education?

they should do a wireless mighty mouse rebate! though its still probably better to get a 2gb nano with £100 rebate and sell it on ebay. thennnnn buy a mighty mouse with the profits. should still probably have about £20-£30 profit left over lol.

Grrr, I'm upset. Ordered my MacBook 24th from the Educational Store. =[.

But I have an iPod with Video so I don't know what I would of done with the Nano.

Just noticed this promotion. So, what's the catch?!?! Almost seems too good to be true as I'm looking for a new iMac just now and can pick up a 60Gb iPod for much cheapness.

No catch - Apple just live in hope that alot of people forget to send off for their rebate or just dont manage to do it correctly hence they end up selling an ipod they wouldnt have.

It's a good action, I don't think they will make any money on the ipods this way, but won't lose any either.
And with all the laptops/powerbooks/ipods getting a update, this will improve sales and leave them with less old stock. It's hard to find the list that shows how much your coupon is worth though, so I guess a lot of people think it's worth €160 always, only to find out that you get a mere €60 discount when you buy a shuffle.

Does anyone know if being a 6th form student qualifies for this for this, as i'm sure i had heard that it was, but the apple website says that you must be 18 years old or over. But by then, i will of finished 6th form, because i start in september and will be 16 years old then. Sorry if i have missed anything obvious, but i was sure 6th form qualifies, and now i don't know. :(
