Looks like John Lewis have mispriced the base model and i5 model to be a 1/3 less . So in case anyone needs a last minute Xmas gift, stock still there. I picked one up, can’t complain about £500 off

Yes, saw this on hukd last night, just picked up my gold 512gb. It will be replacing my 2016 MacBook, hoping the gen 2 keyboard is a lot better (the gen 1 is terrible).

Not an error, the gold and rose gold were discontinued recently and replaced with a single new gold, so they’re clearing out inventory.

Always had a soft spot for the 12” MacBook, and have snapped up a rose gold one, couldn’t resist.

Yes - for the screen alone. Not to mention 8GB Ram, faster SSD, smaller footprint ...

Yes. Nicer screen, faster SSD and almost as fast as the 2018 MacBook Air.

Rather kill one and keep two: rMB 12 for mobility and rMBP 13 for performance. The Air does not really fit in there anymore.

The Air is about 10% faster than the 2017 MacBook. There is a lot of duplication. For me the 12” is the sweet spot since it is the smallest.

i5 worth the extra 200 over the m3? I know it’s double SSS as well.

The processor is negligible. Only but the i5 for the ssd (which is what I did as 256gb isn’t enough for me)

I got mine. however battery stat shows capacity at 97%. It has a manufacturer date of June 2018 so guess its been in storage for a while.
