Hello !

I am at the stage of "Prepared for Shipment" for 2.2GHz machine :D .
I ordered it from the UK-HE online store and I am wondering now what keyboard will I get. I saw some pictures on the net and there are generally 2 kinds: one with rectangular enter/return key referred as US/english keyboard(1)

the enter/return key on the other keyboard has some nasty shape which I really hate. I saw some italian and german mpbs with that keyboard(2).

I am sorry for the strange image I inserted here but I couldn't find better, if you look carefully you can see the difference.

Is there someone around who bought mpb from uk to tell me which keyboard he/she has? If you can post a picture of he keyboard it will be great.

There is no applestore nearby and cannot go and see for my self.
I am used to the US style and I don't really need the special keys like euro or gb pound.

Thanks in advance

OK, Thank you for the fast responses. I just find the rectangular enter better, it is personal. Anyway I'll try not to pay attention to it, hope the my mpb has no (other) issues ;)

Phew...I'm glad it is an L-shaped key - I detest having small Enter keys. grr.

I have a question along these lines...why is the @ key above the 2 key and not above the ' key like all other UK keyboard layouts?

Its really annoying going from my mac keyboard back to a bog standard windows keyboard.

Tell me about it. I have a Mac Mini at home (soon a MBP) and a Mini at work, both with Windows keyboards because I've spent all my adult life with a " above the 2. I do not intend to change and force others who occassionally use my computer to get all confused.

Also a pain in the neck: the backslash (\), the upstroke (|) and the backtick (`) which depending on the UK keymap you've downloaded are in different places. No-one seems to have contributed the definative correct edition.

I think they should let the people choose what kind of keyboard that want to have. What layout they want to have! Not the B*lsh*t in the UK-HE store "english or french". Different people, different preferences! Don't really think many people in UK will buy french keyboard, but some more people may prefer having different english keyboard (I like the US one). And other may like to have the " above the 2. It is all strange to me why they don't give the simple choice.

Surely there must be some easy way of remapping the keys? I don't know - it's been a while since I used OSX, and that was on this Sony Vaio, which has a normal UK layout anyway.

Yes you can re-map the keys. But that doesn't change the actual look of them. Why does Apple insist on re-designing the standard UK keyboard layout?!

Do you think there is any possibility to exchange the keyboard in "Apple Authorised Service Provider" if I call them after I play with it a little bit?
