It looks like we'll get the Wifi and Wifi+3G models at the same time.

On the one hand, I'm disappointed because I'd like an iPad like, now. On the other, it does say that wifi and wifi plus 3g models will both be available in late April. Which gives me a chance to save the extra dough that a 3g one would cost, if I wanted one over the wifi model.

Yeah but can you really trust what Apple say. I wouldn't be surprised if 3G got pushed back to May in the UK. After all the site was saying end of march for over a month.

At least you guys got a new release month. We got nothing... Apple removed the "late march" text completely. No new release date/month for Sweden.

The price of the unit on UK release will have a big impact on its availability, I think the price will be to high for it to be a massive hit on launch.
I'm happy to let the Americans BETA test the thing for a month before we get it. I think the 3g will slip to May.
i have a friend visiting from the US on April 17th. He could bring me a wi-fi model.
But I'm going to wait for a UK 3G. I can wait. I really can.... It's just a few days more...I just need a firm release date to hang on to...

This has crossed my mind too. Not that it would stop me buying one, if other people hadn't tested it out first, but the upside of having to wait is that any quirks will be common knowledge by the time I get my sticky paws on one.
End of April suits me better financially but its a bit frustrating to have it pushed back. Though whoever started the rumour it was going to be June/July had me a bit worried. Didn't fancy shelling out for that and a new iPhone in the same month.

My other concern is the Ibooks.
If that is not live in the UK on release I will not be getting one, thats the big pulling factor for me. If it is released then the cost of books is the other factor.

I'm pretty disappointed that the release date has been pushed back too. I was thinking about going to an Apple store and joining the line on the first day. I've never done anything like that and I thought it might be a bit of fun. Now that it will have been out in the world for a month I can't get excited about the idea.

I understand your point. But it is still the UK launch, no one in this country would have it so you'll still get the excitement of being the first. Plus I bet once you're in the queue you'll get that same buzz of excitement waiting for the doors to open. I do see what you mean about some of the thunder being taken away from it though... Don't give up though!
