Uk Stock Anywhere - 32GB 3G

Hello All,

I have been on the waiting list for a 32GB 3G iPad at the apple store in Cardiff for nearly two weeks and haven't heard a peep.

So i am starting to get a little impatient and was wondering if anyone has seen anywhere that had the illusive iPad in stock, or are supplies really that low that they aren't available anywhere.

I see that apple have updated there online store to say 7-10 days, do people think that might be a better option than waiting on stock instore.

I know it would all be speculation but would appreciate anyones thoughts.

Two weeks sounds long! I was put on it last thurday and got it by Monday.

Best thing to do is try unlikely stores, the Liverpool store isn't too busy compared to Manchester. Might as well try ordering online and in a couple stores, because reserving in store doesn't necessarily mean you have to commit to buy. Can always cancel the online order as well, they don't caharge your card until they dispatch usually.

Yeah stock is that tight, I am expecting to see more this week.

I have 60 on route to me this week :) I would imagine Apple Store are having issues getting them, try your local Apple Premium Reseller and see whats around.
 
Thanks for the replies guys, i will start doing a bit of a call around i think and see if i can find one, or at least someone with an idea of lead time.

I think thats the most annoying thing about it is that they can't give me any indication of when they will be available.

I doubt nany people can tell you about the lead time, when I went to get put on the priority list, even the manager was not told about when he was getting a shipment in. He did try and find out for me which was nice.

Might as well place an order online.
 
No problems with stock down here on the south coast. PC World in Bournemouth and the two stores in Southampton have stock of all models most of the time.

There was stock of most models at the Apple Store in T5 Heathrow (where I got mine) and Dixons at Gatwick.

From what I was told 32GB does seem to be in shorter supply than some of the others.

Depends how much you want one and whether you're up for a road trip? You could phone the stores and ask them to put one aside.

Hmm, now that is rather tempting, i have nothing to do on Saturday as the missus is working so i could take a trip.

Though i just checked the online stock checker for PC World and it's saying no stock available. But i don't know how accurate that is, i shall give them a call.

Apple Cabot Circus Bristol had a delivery yesterday, I got my 32gb to replace my 16gb. I was on the priority list though so not sure how many are available, give them a call.
 
the 32GB WiFi+3G model is the most popular choice according to two stores i've recently been to in the UK

you're probably better just ordering online today and if the magical email from the apple retail store comes tomorrow, then cancel the online order

or vice versa, if the online order ships then just cancel your reservation

Mrrikki - When did you put your name down on the list? It's not far from here to Cabbot Circus so i might give them a call and get my name on there list too as the iPads seem to be getting stuck somewhere on the welsh border t would appear.

I did it last week but they may have stock depends how many they had on the list. Did you call them?

I thought to be put on the priority list you had to be in the store because you sign in with your appleid .

most stores just ask for your name and email address to reserve an ipad, so it can be done over the phone

hi can you tell me how much you paid for a Dixons travel store iPad please? Is the discount any good? Do you know what the discount is on a 32Gb WiFi only model?

Also can you buy one then they send it to your house when you return?

Well i have ordered one online, and got my name on the priority list in Cardiff and Bristol.

I have also put my name down with my local AAR and Currys, so hopefully one of them will get stock soon.

Until then i have crafted myself my own with a TFT and a Corn Flakes box ;)
