UK stock availability? (Retail store)

So I've set my mind on buying a 32GB 3G iPad now, had a look at the online store shipping within 7 - 10 business days. The thing is, I have a retail store 45 minutes away (Meadowhall).

Does anyone know what stock levels are like at UK retail stores as it would be a wasted journey to find they had none in stock!

Awesome choice. I got mine last night and the thing's awesome!

Why not just call the store? That's what I did here in Vegas, and both stores had them in stock.

I got my iPad from the Apple store in the Trafford Centre, Manchester, on Tuesday. I rang them in the morning (number on Apple.com, option 5, wait for ages!!) and confirmed stock with them.

Not sure if it's any indication, but the Trafford centre store had good stock of most models.
