Yeah where did that credit come from??

OziMac was right. I did nuffin.

Geeze I want one though, if they had left the modem in it would be the first Mac I wouldn't need to BTO. I could walk right in and grab one. 2.0GHz 15.4" MBP would be the same but I need the modem.

Again, why is the 17'' cheaper than the 15''?

Pretty cool...looks like no MacBook for some time.

Yeah I'm pissed about that too. Hopefully were only talking first or second week in May... I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Pricing is screwed up on new macbookpro.

The 17" is cheaper than the 15" when you add the BTO options to make same processor/hd capacity.

I suspect we'll see a price drop on the 15" models soon. Maybe when they introduced the macbook.

Chundles - the 17 incher looks beautiful, but I gave in to instant gratification a couple of weeks ago and got the 2.0 GHz 15 incher - and it's the best laptop I've ever owned. It'd be a real shame if the only reason you couldn't get one was because of the modem. :)

The price of a 15.4 inch with a 2.16 in the UK with a 5,400rpm hard drive is the same price as the 17 inch MBP and you are also getting some extra things with the 17 inch with the extra screen size, double layer dvd, hard drive size/speed, firewire capacity and the extra USB port.

A 17 inch is to big for me and I am still happy with my 15.4 inch MBP. Come Autumn though i think that i may contemplate getting a new MBP and selling my old one if one with the Merom chip comes out by then.

The reason they said was because there were no DL drives thin enough to fit in a 1inch laptop

And unless i am mistaken the 17" image says still 1" thin

At the time the 15in was released there was no dual layer drive in the format the mbp uses. ;)

I imagine there now is so they are using it in the 17in whether or not the 15in gets a quiet update I don't know.

Can't say it bothers me there's little to no point in dl dvd's for me.
