So, having been away with the iPad (and family) for the last week, I have to say it's a gorgeous bit of kit but I'm really tired of the constant "can I play with your ipad please dad" I heard non stop all the way through. And the sad face on my 8 year old when I asked for it back.. So, I plan to pick him up a 32GB wifi unit.. Are the Apple stores getting regular shipments or is the whole world waiting on new stock right now? Anyone any idea if I should chance it in the stores or order online?

Thanks!

I popped into the regent street store on Thursday and they had sold out worth checking before you make a trip.

Yeah, no stock around Liverpool / Manchester. If you really want to guarantee yourself one, you can check in the store, if they don't have any, ask to be put on the priority list, hence you will get an email when it becomes available, they will reserve an iPad for you for 24 hours.

Can only find 64gig in Bristol, waiting for a 32gig since Tuesday to trade in my 16gig for it.

Or reserve online and collect from PCWorld, assuming your local shop is one ofnthe chosen stockists.

It is, but they are out of stock (cambridge)

I need to get another Floyd headset so I'll pop in anyway.. With hopeful 8 year old in tow..

That is one lucky 8 year old!!

Yes, although he has to pay for half, which I thought might slow it down a little but when I suggested it, he vanished and came back with 1/4 of the cash after raiding all his money boxes.. I don't give him much pocket money either.. He's frugal like both of his grandfathers*.

Anyone know about Meadowhall, Sheffield?

I was in the Meadowhall store a few days ago and they only had 64GB Wifi & 3G models in. I'm not sure how often they are getting deliveries though. It might be best to call ahead and check.

iPad Meadowhall

I was at Meadowhall the other night and had my first taster and i have to say its really good. I kept hearing people saying in background 'its a big iphon/touch' Well it is based on one but it does a lot of things different such as iworks and the laout of Contacts and itunes is better. Meadowall were out of stock but i have been put on the priority list so hopefully it should be soon. I ordered the 3g 16 Gig but thinkin about it i wished i would have ordered the 32 Gig. I am thinking about online storage for a lot of things with mobile me or something so i may be ok with the 16 Gig. An thoughts you guys

Thanks
Scott

Really depends on what you need to put on it, the main chunks of space are going to be allocated to music and videos mainly. Need to look at your itunes library see how much your going to take of that, personally I went with the 64GB, after looking at the price differences for the models. Although I have over 40GB free though.

iPad

Thanks for that, I normally go for the best one, like i have the 32gig iphone etc but this is going to stretch my finances a bit. but i am thinking i will use it a hell of a lot. I was originally going to sell my 3gs iphone for the iphone 4 and get an ipad but i think i am just sticking to the ipad

Apple Store Cambridge are pretty quick at getting them in if you sign up to their priority list (~ 4 days).

Otherwise call the Cambridge PC World on 01223 222782 which is their business customer section. They actually answer the phone! If you call each day around 10am you'll find out if new stock has arrived. Don't bother checking the online stock checker, they've usually sold out before someone updates it!
