Hi guys,

I've got a Macbook I bought last year and an iMac in this academic year with the student discount available through NUS Extra - as most of you will know, part of that deal with 3 years AppleCare too. I received the agreement e-mail through but when I checked my new iMac's coverage only (About This Mac -> Service tab -> "Check my service and support coverage status") it says:

Repairs and Service Coverage: Pending
The registration of a special agreement is in progress.

So I went to my Macbook which is over a year old now and always just just showed when the policy is due to expire in three years and it too is reading the same thing - and yet its been registered for over a year, so its nothing to do with my new computer. I asked a friend who also checked their policy online at the time and say the full three months and there's too says the message above.

I'm assuming its a glitch in the system that currently applies to everyone, but could fellow students in the UK who've bought a Mac in the last three years through student discount check their coverage and see if they have the above message rather than the actual time it expires as you should. Thanks.

I'm no longer a student, but I purchased my Mac just under 2 years ago when I still was one. For me it shows:

Repairs and Service Coverage: Active
Your product is covered for eligible hardware repairs and service under a custom agreement.

I think it may take a little bit of time to show as active - about a month or two after I bought my Mac, I got an "AppleCare Protection Plan Certificate" through the post. Maybe it'll show as pending until you receive that?

Hmmm, the Macbook Pro is over a year old though its well and truly registered. My friend who checked also bought theirs about a year ago. We've all had the AppleCare certificates ages ago, I was presuming this was happing for everyone as those notices as about Pending and Active are all a recent design change, in fact the entire coverage check site is a new design change. Maybe they're just getting to updating all the policies starting at the oldest first.
