I'm assuming the TV app is anytime now, seeing as Amazon prime app and BBC iPlayer have just updated with support for it....
 
When was the Amazon Prime app updated? The only update i have received today for it is for TVOS which is the OS not the app itself.
 
In Germany we’re also still waiting as they promised to release it this year.

Right now on my son‘s iPhone the app is available.. strange. I see nothing on my devices. Maybe the rollout has begun?

Does your son have the locale changed to US? That‘s one way of getting the app.
 
Nope. Location is Germany. Before changing the location also never worked, the tv app appeared just with an US account.
 
I couldn't get it to load with just a region change. I had to use a VPN plus a US iTunes account.
 
Forced it on my iPhone, nothing yet on my iPad. Not at home to check on my Apple TV (UK)
 
Forcing it works, but as soon as you go back to the UK app store it goes again
