Looking to use an iPad pro 12.9 on a base as a TV to save me buying and running in aerial etc. This is in UK. This is one of it's uses I may add!

So I have BT TV app, and am a subscriber to BT but they don't seem to play live when trying, probably some licence problem or something.

I need something really really easy to use (for wife!), so is there any apps that basically are a TV, rather than having numerous apps for each station, eg BBC iPlayer, all 4, ITV hub etc. I want an all in one and easy to use.

It will be at home on WiFi only if that makes difference.

Thanks

Installed it looks a really good app thanks. Obviously want you to subscribe for the extra but enough on there.

Wish you could customise a bit though, ie hide the subscription channels, have a different layout for the channels, in a grid, but really good app thanks

Yup, a little limited in customisation options but what's there works well enough and it has the most complete set of channels.
There is also TVCatchup but it doesn't feature as many channels. Could still be worth checking out.

Don't want to confuse the wife, yes she would be! One app and she'll have to learn that ha ha

TVPlayer.
Free and also supports PIP if you want to run it while using another app.

TVPlayer – watch live and catchup TV by TVPlayer
https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/tvplayer-watch-live-and-catchup-tv/id710530377?mt=8
Has anyone worked out how to get this playing in a small popup window without all the ads and rubbish surrounding it? The full screen is too big but the embedded screen within the browser is a massively poor use of screen real estate!

Otherwise it's a great app.

I want to have it running in the corner while i am working..

It looks like TVPlayer now sends you to the provider apps instead of using it's own viewer i.e. iPlayer for BBC, ITV Hub for ITV. PIP will be dependent on those specific apps now which is a shame.
