Hi,

I have an iMac purchased on the day they were announced.

20", Core Duo Yonah 2.0GHz, 128MB VRAM, 2GB from Crucial, 250 GB drive, Wireless KBD and Mouse, & AppleCare.

I am selling this machine to a friend, and want to give her a good and fair deal. The computer is in perfect condition and I have the box. Any suggestions on a price in £s?

Also, she wants to use it to do fairly light FCP work. This machine should serve her well, yes?

a new one is 999 ... add wireless keyboard/mouse and applecare and then at least 15% less..i guess..

With the extra ram, KB, and apple care, I would have thought you should be asking somewhere around 800 squid. Maybe 750 for a friend...

I always check out the refurb store to see what Apple are selling a similar machine for, then you have to price up or down depending on what warranty you have (of course the Apple refurb machines have the standard 1 year warranty - you may have 2-3 years coverage if you purchased Applecare)

For example, I just checked the refurb site and they have the following system available for £921.20 including shipping and 1 yr Warranty:

20-inch widescreen LCD with 1680x1050 resolution
2.0GHz Intel Core Duo processor with 2MB shared L2 cache
512MB (single SO-DIMM) 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM (PC2-5300)
250GB Serial ATA hard drive
Slot-load 8x double-layer SuperDrive
ATI Radeon X1600 graphics with 128MB GDDR3 memory
Built-in AirPort Extreme and Bluetooth 2.0

You've got more RAM, Wireless Keyboard & Mouse and Applecare, so I would probably price it around anywhere between £800-£900, given that Apple has dropped the price of the recently launched 20" iMac.
