OK here we go. On O2 i don't get any voicemail, the only way i can get voicemail is to set call forwarding to 901, but then this forwards ALL my calls.

I'm guessing this is because visual voicemail is stored on the phone and not the network and currently voicemails are stored on the network.

I've got the phone to display when their is a message waiting by the red dot on the voicmail and got the voicemail button to work, however there are no mailbox settings to set this from a network level.

Idea's ?

How did you get the red dot for voicemails, and the voicemail button working?

OK voicemail is a key combination on the phone. Call up your keypad and type *5005*86*xxx# then CALL where xxx is your voicemail number ( for O2 it's 901 for T-Mobile 121 (?) ).

As for the red dot call your voicemail and it's the option to change the way you are notified. You get text message, call back or voicemail display icon.

I'll call my voicemail shortly and get the key combination for you.

The voicemail key combination is all credit to the dev team at : http://iphone.fiveforty.net/wiki/index.php/Activating_Voicemail_Button

OK so to set the red dot ( you don't get qty notification ) on O2 it's this key combo :

901 * 4 (mailbox settings), 1 (change notification), 3 ( voicemail handset icon )

so that's : 901*413

hope that helps

any idea how to get the red dot on UK vodaphone?

thanks

Call your voicemail and listen to the options. Sorry i've not yet played with Vodafone too much. As soon as it worked on O2 i started using it as my day to day phone.

Right answering my own post.

For some reason if voicemail isn't picking up your calls ( on UK O2 ) you need to reactivate your voicemail.

Dial 1750 (free call ) and this will turn on voicemail redirection again . If you are asked for a password enter 8705.

Sorted :)

So :

iPhone running 1.0.2
Unlocked on O2 (UK)
EDGE Working
YouTube Working
SMS Working
VoiceMail Working

i guess that's a pretty working iPhone then :)
