I followed the new jailbreak guide for OTB 1.1.2 and it worked - but due to a stability issue did the whole thing again.

Now I'm jailbroken as before, but there are a few subtle differences - e.g. no O2 button in the Phone settings menu, no O2 bookmark in Safari, a $ sign on the keyboard instead of the £, and I had to add the EDGE settings manually.

Has anyone else noticed these UK specific differences?
How can I go back to the UK firmware and still be jailbroken?

Go into:

Settings / General / International

And change
- Keyboards (Turn on "English UK", Turn off the "English", which should be called English US)
- Region Format

Thanks, but that's not it... firstly: I can turn on English UK but I can't turn off English - ever.
Secondly: there are other differences like 'auto set time' (which just wasn't an option on the other firmware).

It doesn't make a difference, my iPhone does everything I need it to, just can't understand why I would have two different firmwares with only one method!

OK still investigating this... it would seem that the UK firmware is 1.1.2(3B48) as confirmed in this image:

My iPhone has 1.1.2(3B48b). Can anyone confirm that there are two different firmwares and I'm not going crazy?? How can I restore to the UK version?

The hacked US version says 1.1.2 (3B48b).

You are right, English (US) keyboard has a on/off switch but it's grayed out.

Region format can be switched from the US though.

I am guessing a simple plist change can turn off the US keyboard, probably in a similar way people enable other countries before iWorld.

It's more than just the keyboard... stuff like the missing O2 menu, the fact that the EDGE settings are hidden, auto time setting wasn't an option etc. etc.

Where was the O2 menu? I don't remember seeing it on mine before jailbreaking, and just restored back to standard 1.1.2 but still can't see it.

Auto time = "Auto-Lock" (4th down in Settings/ General)

Do you have picture of O2 menu or the things that are different?

That is a week 42 iPhone. Week 42 iPhones are not released in Europe I think. Might not be the final firmware.

By auto time I meant "set automatically" in the date and time section (wasn't an option in O2 firmware.
No picture of the O2 menu - it was in the phone section of settings, underneath SIM Applications... though I'm not 100% sure SIM Applications was there. The menu led to a list of bookmarks on O2's website, and tapping launced new Safari pages.
