Hey guys!

Long story short, I bought an 10.5" iPad and wanted to use it as a secondary monitor while travelling. I came across Duet Display and Mountie+, and pre-ordered the Mountie+ which just arrived.

I have to say, it's nearly perfect. It's exactly what I wanted. It's sturdy, well constructed. It's light weight. The charge cord pass-through (the hole in the middle of the mount) which wasn't on the original Mountie is great. The connection feels strong, and the iPad does not feel like it's going to fall off (I gave it a tug just to make sure).

My only gripe is the fit. If you attach mount so that the edge of the screen (the aluminium) sits flush with the wall of the divider/middle column of the mount (i.e. if you push it all the way in), it creates so much pressure on the display that the display turns yellow around the two grips. After inspecting the rubber inserts, it appears that their curve follows the curve of the screen. Thus I tried aligning the edge of the screen with the edge of the rubber insert instead of pushing it all the way in. There are no longer pressure marks on the screen, and the connection is still super strong (I tugged it again just to make sure). Although it only takes 10 or so seconds to align the edge of the screen with the rubber inserts, it is an inconvenience, so I hope they come up with a fix for this in time (e.g. remould the rubber inserts for the MacBook). Apart from this, the mount is fantastic!

The amount of screen real estate I have now is amazing, using Duet Display. It will be a game changer when I need to get down to work when I'm overseas.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask :)
