Wash your hands after you use the restroom?

i think it's a problem that's been largely fixed. i don't know what causes it, but a few laptops still manage to be discolored. call apple or take it to the apple store immediately and get that case replaced.

Why meeeee :(

and you wash hands people are hilarious let me tell you...

OK ... no toilet humor.

Could be something you ate, or drank, seeping through the skin. Some people's sweat will stain stuff.

Of course some of the cleaners tend to be problematic also causing a chemical reaction with the plastic.

i'm sorry. it sucks, i know. but again, the best thing for you is to stop posting about it and to go out and do something about it. take it to apple, and tell them your situation. they'll be glad to take care of you.

Mine does that too. Got it back in middle of July. I don't want to send it back to Apple because then that might cause problems.

My solution: Mr. Cleans Magic Eraser. Works wonders!

If a Mister Clean Magic Eraser is getting rid of your "yellowing," I don't think you have the same problem that was initially reported....

The initial problem was the staining was seeping into the pours of the plastic. It could not be cleaned with Magic Eraser or other cleaning products. It is probably just surface dirt.

Have you tried to clean it?

Yeah, sorry, that's what I was trying to get across.... The white plastic iBook / Macbook designs have always been susceptible to dirt, and the Mister Clean is amazing for this -- it cleans out stuff nothing seems to get, and makes the palmrests look like new. On the matte screens, it's even safe  to use gently to get scuffs off the screen (I've done it several times with no ill effect). I just cleaned my iBook today.

But the original staining issue ... there's no way a Mister Clean Magic Eraser is going to clean that off. So just to confirm... try the Mister Clean first. If you can clean it that way, this isn't the staining issue from before. It's just dirt. If that doesn't work, different story.

I haven't heard of that happening in like a year... I presume the problem has been fixed. You must have some isolated situation going on.
