As many people are on their 3rd and 4th 27" iMac, they should be happy Apple has given them the gracious opportunity of the phenomenal un-boxing experience mac has to offer. Imagine the several hundred extra video's we will see on you tube of the same magical event?
Thanks Apple!!!!
But seriously, I my self have the base model 27" with upgraded graphics card ordered. Hope to get it in 2 weeks. Hopefully I will not be another  un-boxing professional. I just want a computer that works!!!

Good luck!

my 2 cents:cool:

Update

Hi,
Okay the 27"imac should be in tomorrow... I will unbox, test, and post my results with any issues.

Cheers!!!

hummm..he would also be here complaining.

well we can see this way, if he isn't here it most be happy with the machine otherwise there would be another topic with a faulty iMac.

Let's just think it's a 100% iMac :D

Hello,
Sorry I did not have a chance to post my review so here goes.....
I got the base 27"imac with the upgraded 512mb graphics card. The imac came perfect in the box..no damaged screen. I set up and started the imac and WOW what a bright screen, this thing is a behemoth. Everything about this thing is perfect. I checked for the yellow tinge test and it passed with flying colours. So far no flicker however the hard drive makes a slight ticking noise periodically but I believe this is normal so it really doesnt bother me too much. I will continue to monitor and keep you guys posted if there is any change. I will post some photos for those that want to see it later today.
I will also add that my iMac is week 51/2009 so it seems to be a winner so far!!
Cheers!!!

That is one thing I like about Apple. They package things very sensibly, not over packaged, and easy to unpack. No tools needed to free the product.

Yes Sparkie, I agree with you. It's always exciting to get a new apple product.
Btw, how is your imac? Do you have a horror story to tell us?

Cheers!

ive lost all faith in them, so wont own another. but please dont let it put you off mate! there are good ones out there hopefully yours is one of them

Sorry to hear about your grief. I hope they give you a full refund and a bit of a break on your new macPro. Just curious if they were replacing your iMac with existing stock or was it specifically ordered for you? A friend of mine who is an Apple tech informs me that they resolved the screen issues with the latest product line. Perhaps you were getting older stock models....
I am confident that mine is without any issues so far....but one never knows:rolleyes:
