Un-Even RAM

A few people have touched on this in topics lately, but I've yet to find a definitive answer.

Does having un-even RAM installation (e.g. 1 x 1GB stick & 1 x 2GB stick) perform any different in relation to having even RAM (e.g. 2 x 1GB sticks)? Does it make a difference?

Yes, but very little. I think it affects graphics the most, but don't get too concerned - I think the difference is tiny.
