Unable to access files and desktop stored in iCloud

I upgraded to the beta version of macOS Catalina. I have played around with it for a few days and noticed the following buggy issues:

* The following applications can be slow to run / access: Lightroom, iPhoto
* Microsoft Excel no longer works - which is expected since it is 32 bit

More importantly, though, I have not been able to access files and desktop stored in iCloud.

Any suggestions on how to resolve?

Check this thread out I had the same problem. https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/solved-all-files-missing.2187747/

Disconnecting from iCloud will dump all those missing files into an archive under ~/.

Problem Solved! It took some patience, but I am now able to access iCloud files.
