Unable to add me.com account to Thunderbird

Hi everyone. I'm trying to add my me.com account to Thunderbird, I followed the instructions here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1625 and it doesn't work. Keeps coming up with an error saying 'Configuration could not be verified - is the username or password wrong?'. I've entered my details in correctly. Any ideas? I'm using Thunderbird 10. The account sets up fine on Mail.app.

You have to set up as your apple ID. Set mine up yesterday all fine.

Occasionally Apple's servers are overloaded or crash for some reason. I would give it a try another time.

What settings did you use? I put my Apple ID as my username and it still didn't work so I'm assuming that's not what you meant?

Hi, that's all I entered. Sorry not sure what the problem could be. Try setting thunderbird auto configure for you by setting up a new email.
