I have tried rebooting and I tried a cheap Bluetooth keyboard from Aldi and I can’t get them to connect.

Apple tech support suggested buying a new keyboard. Any ideas, please?

I changed batteries twice and I was just using the keyboard this morning on my old system.

I was thinking of getting a $5 used Windows keyboard to see if I can get the system up and running.

Any suggestions, please? Thanks.

A1314 is a 15-year-old keyboard that uses two AA batteries.

I've heard of various problems with it and frankly - I agree with Apple Tech Support, get a new keyboard. You can even get Touch ID now, which is AWESOME.

I ended up getting this for $20. If had seen the red or green version for $15 I would had bought that instead. So far, it seems like a good purchase and it can operate as a real Mac keyboard.

Buying a $15 USB hub allowed me to get the system up and running for $36.
