Hi all,

So I'm unable to connect to my macbook via SMB from my android device no matter what I try.

Steps I've taken.

1. Gone into file sharing, turned on SMB, enabled my user account
2. Using a file browser with smb support on my phone, attempted to connect to smb://my ip address with my username and password

However I get an error that the server is not found. My firewall is disabled, and I am able to SSH into my macbook, but samba is not working.

I remember reading a while ago that OSX had a broken implementation of samba, is this still the case? Pulling my hair out here.

Cheers,
Jack

In some cases, I've had to go into the advanced options and enable reduced security for my account.
