Folks, I'm trying to connect my old 2009 wired Apple keyboard to my MBP M2. I'm using a USB C to USB A adapter but for some reason they keyboard isn't working. I know the adapter works as I use it to connect my phone charger.

Is there something additional I need to do?

Do you know if the keyboard works? Can you transmit data over the adapter, not just power? If the answer to the above questions are yes then it could be that your keyboard is taking more power than the adapter allows likely because of the USB hub on the keyboard. I would try a different adapter, perhaps one that can be powered. It should just work.

Thanks mate. The keyboard definitely works. I was using it on my Mac Pro. I've also tried a USB hub and it also doesn't work woth that. Strange!

Out of frustration, I tried a Microsoft keyboard and that worked fine. Odd that the Apple keyboard doesn't though!
