Hi all..

I'm unable to delete CoreStorage from a external encrypted drive running Yosemite..in Terminal..

I get en error trying to delete.

Has it always been like this? I seems to remember a while back maybe ?? it was possible from the OS.

I know i can boot from Recovery and do delete cs, but it should be possible for within the OS itself, especially when the drive being deleted on is external usb drive.

What command are you running? The command below should delete a CS volume.

Code:
diskutil cs delete "volume_name"

Just substitute the cs volume name for volume_name in my example and be sure to include the quotes.
