Trying to gift an app to my wife, but when I enter her email address (and I have tried two separate ones; both of which are active and valid) I keep getting the same error dialogue box: "Invalid Gift. You must enter a valid recipient email address."

Anyone ever get this message? How does one get around it? What am I doing wrong? TIA.

Is your wife already on your family plan? Maybe that is causing the disconnect?

So turns out I did have family sharing turned on for iCloud backup. With that already set up I just adjusted the settings to share purchases, as well, and shared the the app. Certainly possibly that was the email impediment though I don’t know why it wouldn’t merely let me share a purchase, since in app purchases can’t be shared. In any event I post this in case others find the thread later and have the same questions.
