My AirPods work great, however I am unable to switch to another iOS device automatically. I have to select the AirPods from the audio source drop-down list in control center before the AirPods will work with the device I switched to. Is there a solution for this?

This is the intended behavior.
The only two devices that instantaneous switching happens between are iPhone and Watch.
