Unable to install El Capitan using bootable usb pendrive

Dear Friends,

i have a Mac Book Pro which has nothing in it, totally formatted, Now i want to perform a clean installation of El Capitan. I have a window PC and downloaded El Capitan.dmg file and using TransMac created the bootable pendrive. During installation it shows error (\) symbol.

How do i install now, stuck very badly. Please help.

I have also downloaded El Capitan.pkg file but how to use is in windows have no ideas.

Experts comments and suggestion were sought.

This is a little bit of a way around but it's at least almost guaranteed to work, because mounting/restoring DMGs can be a little hiccupy on Windows. You can install the original OS that came with your computer and then upgrade to El Cap from there. Once it's upgraded to El Cap you can then do a clean install if you want to through the recovery OS.

If you hold Cmd, Alt, R on startup, this should boot into Internet Recovery, and then you can hopefully reinstall an OS from there in OS X Utilities.

Also, did you recently replace your HDD which is why it's formatted? If so, you can plug in your old HDD into a SATA dock and hold Alt on startup to boot into the recovery partition on there, then install to your fresh HDD.

Please let me know what the news is.

Thank you Keysofanxiety for the information and helping out. Actually i am new to Mac OS and accidentally used the option erase all data and its totally wipes out everything. So now stuck with a folder with a question mark error.

My previously installed OS was Yosemite and started Internet Recovery. Now the problem is i dont have stable internet connection some times its down. So does the internet recovery recovers from where it was left out or starts the fresh installation if systems restart again.

Do i have any other option to download and install Yosemite ??
