Unable to install Firefox on clean install

Clean installed 10.11 on a partition, whenever I try to install Firefox (latest from website v38.0.5) I am unable to open the app on first run - I receive an error message that the file is damaged and should be deleted.

I've tested with various language packs (UK-English, US-English) and on both a spare partition and a VM (upgraded from 10.10 clean install).

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Does the install work on a 10.10 machine?

I wonder if this is due to the changes under the hood, i.e., rootless.

Try changing the setting in preferences to allow install from anywhere. A lot of times that will solve the "this file is damaged and should be deleted" message / problem.
