I was trying to figure out how to change a few of the backgrounds so I copied some of the png's in the iphone, such as the application/mobilephone/defaultdialer.png.

When I try to open up the png in photoshop though, it gives me an error: unable to complete your request because the file format module cannot parse the parse the file.

This only happens when I try to open png's that are on the iphone already. Any idea why this happens and how I can fix it?

Thanks

Im not finding much about it. Do you, or anyone, know the exact name of the format and if there is a photoshop plugin for it?

I was wondering the same thing. Photoshop CS4 Gave me the same error.
EDIT: Found a program called Fixpng, haven't tried it yet, but I have read that it works. Do a quick Google search for it.
