Hello, On a Mac Book Pro/ El Capitan, i'm trying to partition an USB stick with Disk Utility but the "Partition" button is disabled. I tried other USB sticks and it's the same. What i'm i doing wrong ? Thanks!

Could we partition USB flash drive in Mac OS X before?
I only know I can partition USB hard disk.

I had the very same problem yesterday when trying to format a USB stick to boot Linux. Instructions said create 1 partition, but partition button was greyed out. I just did erase and it worked, but it's obviously not a solution if you want more than 1 partition.

I am really not a fan of the new Disk Utility at all. Is there a third party replacement already?

Have you selected the drive (not the volume/partition)? What partition map do your drives have?
