What is the limit on number of iPhones you can preorder per person? I have preordered 2 iPhone 7 JB and black with launch day delivery on the the 16th. Yesterday I have received the below email from Apple for one of the 2 orders!

I preordered three phones on one Apple ID (two being shipped & billed to one family member, one being shipped & billed to me) and have two preparing for shipment and one still processing but have received no such notice.
 
You are so lucky! I have the first one the JB preparing for shipment with the black cancelled. Tried chatting with Apple rep, waited for more than an hour to get connected and finally gave up. Will try again on Monday morning to see if there is any way I can get them to reinstate my canceled order. I hoping that this is an error from Apple as I would really hate to lose that launch day delivery window spot!

Did the black ever go "preparing for shipment"? Or was it still Processing?

They're trying to stop resellers. Good in my opinion.
Not really! The second one in Jet Black is for my wife and the black (canceled one) for myself! Resellers will need more than 2 I believe to make a business out of it!

Were they for the same line or different lines? What carrier? I looked and looked this year to find a purchase limit posted and the only thing I could find was in the fine print that you couldn't have more than 4 ATT Next orders per account. I found a limit posted clearly on the Singapore Apple iPhone 7 webpage, but couldn't find one anywhere else. Keep us updated.

Not linked to any line account. Both were simply paid in full iphone 7 on T-Mob billed to a single credit card. During preordering and selecting the pay in full payment option did not have to enter any carrier line account.

I certainly hope so.. from what I have read around here and in other places 2 iPhones per customer is within the standard limits that Apple follows for every new iPhone launch. I also have a series 2 Apple Watch on preorder. Apple systems might have mistaken this for a third iPhone preorder. I guess I will find out by Monday morning.

This happens to a few people every launch.

Chatting with the rep will not get your order reinstated. They do not h e that ability.
