I'm on a new M1 MBP can't start in Safe Mode anymore. Pressing Shift while starting up no longer results in the words "Safe Mode" in red being displayed at the User screen. Once you log in, all startup processes load, which would have been prevented previously.
Also, resetting the SMC no longer works either. With the new keyboard, pressing any key will start the MBP, which means you can't control the startup up process of: "Using the built-in keyboard, press Shift-Control-Option on the left side of the keyboard, then press the power button at the same time."
I searched the internet and it appears that I'm the only one of 10 million Big Sur users suffering from this issue. Anyone else? 🤔
