Unable to update OTA Software update iOS 11.0 to 11.0.2

I have just bought new iPhone 8 Plus for my mom. She last backed up her stuff on iOS 11.0.2 software via iCloud but the new phone come with iOS 11.0 only.

Now the server isn't willing to let me update is the first time i seen problems on their server side... Because of this i can't do the icloud backup
Any help?

Plug into iTunes and perform a manual update. I ran into the same issue.

Yea that's what I'm doing right now, downloading 11.0.2 manually off and using iTunes installer. Sigh because I'm at university now so the internet here is super fast which makes good for restoring content... oh well

Strange because normally their software updates are uber smooth this was the first time i had a clash/issue... hahaha

apparently its an isolated issue with the phone. that i discovered. not sure why, but the phone only won't let me update to ios 11.0.2... bummer.

my crusty old ipad mini 2 has that option available even on wifi. to update to iOS 11.0.2 [Download and install]

It is a weird situation. My first iPhone 8+ did it over WiFi no problem. New one wouldn’t even search for an update. Hopefully this in fact a one time hiccup.
