Having trouble updating my 2019 iMac to 12.3 - so far I’ve tried restarting my Mac, resetting NVRAM and trying to update frame safe mode. Each attempt has failed and I get a message “failed to prepare the software update”

any advice on how I can proceed would be greatly appreciate.

Dowloaded the installer from the App Store and am getting this message in the Terminal:

"Applications/Install macOS Monterey.app does not appear to be a valid OS installer application."

Got the same error upgrading MBA M1. Updating from recovery mode estimated several hours since it wanted to download the update again. Ended up creating USB memory stick installer from 12.3 update that was already present and completed successfully in ~1 hour.

That appears to be a typing error. You do need to have the escapes on each space in a name (notice the backslashes in the commands when a name has spaces. Those need to be there!)
