After successfully installing Big Sur on my 5,1 using OLCP and decided to see if I can install Monterey on another Drive

However, I have been trying this for days and it simply will not install

it seems to fail at different points, but the attached is the most common. the OS installs, down to around 12 mins left, and reboots, at which point I get this error

any ideas?

Try formatting the drive to MacOS Extended. This seems counterintuitive, but it forces the Monterey installer to reformat the drive with the right settings for Monterey.

I had problems too and had to delete and recreate the APFS drive from 0.
