I have never been part of the beta programs and just stuck to the regular public iOS releases. I have my phone updated to the newest 10.2.1 and whenever I use portrait mode with Depth of Field, the background is not blurred and the subject is blotchy and looks like it was taken with an old flip-phone camera. I reset my iPhone and found when i tried the camera mode again, it asked me to try the public beta of iOS 10.2.1... I'm confused, is there not a finished product of the portrait mode or is my phone just having issues? Thanks for any assistance/feedback.
I have the iPhone 7 plus on iOS 10.2.1

Sounds like something's hosed up, it should work fine. You did a reset, have you tried backing up and restoring? That may be needed if the last iOS update went awry (I had different problems with 10.2.1 and had to do this, all good now).

Thanks, I'll restore it. I just hate having to keep doing this.

Bump...
After trying everything and finally having time to drive to an Apple Store, my old phone was replaced. But the new one has the same issues. I set-up as new iPhone and it still glitches out and the portrait mode still does this...

Not sure what to do now. :/

Portrait Mode is still considered a Beta feature I suppose. Tap "Try the Beta" and see if that goes away for good, might be a one-time notification.

If you continue to see this, or have crappy results, perhaps something in your backup file is messed up. You can try restoring from scratch (i.e. don't load your backup) and see if it gets better.

As I said before I already restored my old phone "as new" and it didn't work on the first phone and Apple had no idea why it was doing it so they swapped it with a new phone which I set-up as new iPhone as well (I don't restore back ups on new iDevices.
I called Apple and they said the "try new portrait mode beta" ended back in December and that I shouldn't be seeing that message.
But 2 new iPhone 7's later and I'm still seeing that message and my photos come out blotchy and blurry despite anything I do.
