As per the thread title, since upgrading to Monterey, I've not been able to use TouchID (primarily to unlock the Mac) with any consistency.

With Big Sur, I was able to merely place my fingerprint finger on the TouchID (not surpress it) and it would unlock/authorise very smoothly. Since upgrading to Monterey, simply placing my finger on the TouchID key does nothing. If I surpress the TouchID key, it works occasionally but more other than not, it does nothing.

Anyone else experiencing this issue, or know of a workaround? Or, is it simply a case of awaiting an update from Apple?

Cheers.

I'm having the same issue. I've read some people had success just shutting down their computer, waiting a bit, and rebooting it. I haven't tried that yet but for some the fix is only temporary.
