I am having problems verifying my own me.com email address to the associated ID.

I have an old school Apple ID from when iTunes Store first opened. I'll call it myappleid. When MobileMe came around, I got an email address (mymeaddress@me.com) and had it verified.

Now with the transition to iCloud, I have decided I'll use my iCloud ID (mymeaddress@me.com) for iMessages, FaceTime and use myappleid for iTunes downloads.

I removed the mymeaddress@me.com from myappleid and put my gmail account in.

When I try to verify mymeaddress@me.com with the mymeaddress@me.com Apple ID, I keep getting messages saying it is already verified with another account.

Does anyone know why this could be happening?

I'm in the exact same situation, everything you've posted above also applies to me :(

The EXACT same situation applies to me. Even though I removed my @me address from my old/original iTunes store/Apple ID account, it still won't let me add it / verify it under the MobileMe Apple ID (that shares its namesake, lol)....says it's already in use. I know it's not in use anymore, because I found the account it was in use under and removed it....

This issue is not new, I've found old threads talking about this issue....one guys said he was able to get help through MobileMe support, but it took like 3 weeks for them to figure it out.

This issue is going to come up a lot now with all these new services using Apple ID's and then linking email addresses to them, FaceTime, iMessage.....

It's getting ugly.....Apple really messed this one up......

Thank heavens I'm not the only one. The MobileMe rollout was a lot smoother then this for me.

Yeah, mine has resolved now. Must've been iCloud congestion slowing everything down.

Still frustrating as hell though.

Same problem here. Now that I've been able to migrate my MobileMe account, I deleted the additional emails from my iTunes account ID. I keep getting errors on the iPad when I try to add in iMessage.

When I try to manage the emails through appleid.apple.com, it won't even give me an error message. It just sits there.

I guess it's just going to take some time to process all the requests coming through. They really should have rolled this out in stages of some sort.

I got a phone call from Apple not long ago. In my frustration, I emailed Tim Cook venting my frustration in a polite way. He passed it on to the Australian MobileMe tech support group.

They were checking up on the problem and I felt bad because it rectified itself. But how is that for customer support? Pretty good I think!

Any resolution for those still with this problem? I have an error with one of my email addresses.

Thanks!
