Just thought I'd share a piece of reporting. Quoting a lady from Gizmodo:

- Samsung's Galaxy Tab runs Google operating system and that will be a big draw for people, while you need to be an Apple fan to appreciate iPad

- I don't see the point of these devices anyway.

That's very inarticulate on her part. I suspect that she wanted to point out that while everybody uses Google search and Cloud services, significantly fewer people use Apple OSes. The way she put it is really stupid.

I think she's spot on. She rightly says Android has been popular on the smart phones, so people will be familiar with the tablet.

If only the iPad OS had premiered on a smartphone, more or less single-handedly created the smartphone category as we know it, and been wildly popular. Oh what a world we'd live in then.

Honestly, the woman is clownshoes from start to finish.

"Unbiased Reporting" is an oxymoron. Period. Journalists are human beings, their work compensated by a politically motivated office editorial and management team. They want to get ahead, they report in ways that is in keeping with their career aspirations, no different than any other job. Their bosses, in turn, are motivated by sponsorship funding which exerts certain ideological influences. Journalism is a profit center, even if the profit is simply one of personal influence and notoriety.

Everyone has a bias. The trick in discerning truth from fiction is to determine whether that persons bias matches your own or not. This is why user-based reviews on forums such as these are far more valuable. While everyone here has a mental model already in place that factors into what they consider "good/better/best," at least you can be reasonably sure that most of us aren't motivated to steer your decision based on monetary profit for ourselves.

In other words....ignore the paid reviewers. They write what they are paid to write, whether they admit to it or not.
