Almost forgot about these because they need to be downloaded manually, but Cards and Trailers are terrific!

Trailers is a lot more comprehensive than I thought, including nearby theaters and show times, mapping, still photos, and more. And the picture looks fantastic on the iPhone 4S screen, even when HD is turned off in Settings (even on Verizon's pokey data connection trailers looked really nice and played smoothly).

Cards needs an update because it's a bit crashy in its first version, but it's pretty nifty, I can see myself using it a lot more than I thought I would. You can pick from themes (probably they will add more in the future), customize the photo from your collection, customize text, pick addresses from Contacts for the envelope, and the app will save drafts. It's $3 per card, but consider a regular, store-bought card. It's probably what, $1.50? Then add postage, gas to drive to the store (and buy stamps if you forgot), the time it takes to go look through all those crappy cards, and you still can't customize it using your own photos. Then you have to remember to mail it. With cards I can do all this from anywhere, in a minute. Cards will also send you an email when the card is sent (I think), and another when it's received. Sounds like a deal to me.

So two apps released with iOS 5 that kind of got pushed aside with all the iPhone 4S, Siri, iMessage, Sprint, News Stand, iCloud, etc. attention. I highly recommend you check them out, they are free on the App Store. Not saying they are anything revolutionary, but I like them and can see myself actually using them.

Haven't checked out Trailers but I used the Cards app just the other day and it worked great for me! No crashes, smooth and intuitive functionality, and lots of choices.

P.S. Love the Pixies!
