Unenroll public beta program

Hey guys,

I have been part of the public beta program of El Capitan, but would like to stay with the final golden master version. Would it be possible to just unenroll from the public beta program on the website and wait for the final version to come out for everyone? In this way I would not have to downgrade to Yosemite with the inadvertent file losses. Same goes for my phone with iOs 9.1, however do not mind downgrading my phone as its my second phone.

Go to the App Store in System Preferences, there you can change to no longer receive pre-release software

Hello. As far as I know, the tactic of adjusting the App Store update settings does not work for El Capitan.
The workaround was very strenuous for me and took a long time to find (ditto for iOS).
The following steps do not require a downgrade of either system.

Here are the steps to remove you Mac from the OS X Public Beta:

1. Make sure that you have not already downloaded or installed another OS X Beta release.
   
2. Unenroll from the public beta through Apple's website at their Unenroll page. Before following the link, you should be already signed in to the Apple Beta Software Program portal. This is not a fundamentally necessary step, but it will prevent error.
3. If you cannot adjust your App Store settings to stop showing "pre-release Software Update seeds," continue following these steps.
4. Restart your Mac.
5. Open Terminal(.app)
6. Execute the following command:

   sudo softwareupdate --clear-catalog

7. You will be promted for an administrator password and will be warned about the misuse of the sudo command. Continue. If you do not trust my intentions, my source for this code can be found on OS X Daily.
8. Restart your Mac (again).
9. Open your App Store app and go to the updates section.
10. Press Command-R to refresh the page.
11. You should no longer be receiving the pre-release versions of OS X.

Here are the steps to remove your iOS device from the iOS Public Beta:

1. Verify that you have not already downloaded a beta release of iOS. If you have, you can delete it (do so before continuing). Additionally, it is not recommended for you to already be running a beta release of iOS before you proceed.
2. In a Nutshell: To get the beta seeds of iOS, you had to install an Apple profile that has changed your update preferences. In the simplest explanation, you will have to delete that profile. These steps explain how to do that.
3. Unenroll from the public beta through Apple's website at their Unenroll page. Before following the link, you should be already signed in to the Apple Beta Software Program portal. This is not a fundamentally necessary step, but it will prevent error.
4. Delete the "iOS 9 Beta Software Profile":

   2. To remove a configuration profile in iOS:
      
      

      1. On your iOS device, open Settings > General.
      2. Scroll to the bottom and open Profiles. If you do not see a "Profiles" section, you do not have a configuration profile installed.
      3. In the "Profiles" section, select the profile you wish to remove and tap Delete Profile. If you have a passcode for your device, you will be prompted to enter it. Then tap Delete.

   3. Remove all the configuration profiles (there should be one).
   4. Upon returning to Settings, there should no longer be a "Profile" section in Settings > General.
5. Restart your iOS device.
6. You should no longer be receiving beta releases (seeds) of iOS.
