This is not one of those OMG my iPad is not perfect can i take it back threads, just wanted to know if anyone else had the thin rubber piece that holds the screen in sorta poking out in the corners. I just noticed this on mine.

Not like the screen is going to fall out or anything, just curious i guess.

Mine isn't "uneven" but it does feel like it isn't continuous, like pieces of it have been chiseled off. No big deal.

That is kinda what mine is like, although in one corner it is like it wasn't pressed all the way.

But like we have both said, no biggie, doesn't effect the the iPad at all

This happens for the same reason it happens on the iPhone and iPod Touch. The rubber acts as a seal on the part that attaches to the glass. It sits on a plastic edge and is only about 1mm thick.

If you were to push your nail or similar between the glass and casing, you would damage the rubber and possibly cause light leak.
If you have piece of the rubber sticking out you should be able to gentle push it back in to some extent although you should be careful not to do what I previously said.

I guess theres no real way around it due to the thickness of the rubber but usually its so minute that you can't even see it.

Mine is ever so slightly raised on the corner to the left of the home button. I can also see a notch in the aluminum there as well, I can only assume that is the how you disassemble it. Not a defect just the way it is.
