Slightly odd one, most of the time when doing light stuff ( web browsing etc ) fans on m2 max never spin, but occasionally they suddenly go to 'full blast' from 0, before slowly ramping back to 0 again over next minute or so. This is relatively infrequent, I think, but quite noticeable when it suddenly happens in a quiet environment.

As far as I can see there's no even slightly elevated temperatures when this happens, though perhaps there was at the moment of activation but by time look has gone down already?

Trying to figure out how to trace the potential cause or reason, right logs to try and examine or something, as it feels a bit 'odd', even is mostly harmless.

Thing is there is no notable activity, or temperature increase, which is what should normally trigger fans.

There may be something running in the background causing this.
What 3rd party utilities do you have installed, if any?
Do you have external drives connected?
What does Activity Monitor show?
