Is it just me, or is this normal???

I am absolutely obsessed with the play counts of various songs on my iTunes, and with my top 25 most played playlist...

Since this was eating up too much of my life, i wiped the play counts for my entire library and deleted the playlist. However I still remember the exact playcount for every single song... and I am tempted to reset everything ;)

I remember once when my computer crashed, I actually hacked my iPod and got all the old play counts back and reset them on the iTunes by playing the songs over and over. (Killed my spring break)

Is this healthy???

No. But then again, I'm really into collecting soundtracks of movies, and that takes up a lot of my time also. I think of it as a hobby. :p

they should have a 12 step program for people like me....haha

but then again, I want to triple the size of my library, now a measly 300 songs or so, fill it up with good stuff

btw, I LOVE soundtracks!!

I have ones for 24, Smallville, Collateral, Minority Report, The Bourne Supremacy, the Ring, and too many others to mention....

Like my siggy says, I am obsessed with music....

THIS is unhealthy. haha:

ok you win...well if you find yourself stuck in an island for a couple of months or so, at least you will have enough music!

see the positive in everything ;)

Yeah, I'm obsessed with my playcounts too. When I was going to re-rip one of my CD's with a different bit rate, I downloaded an applescript to set playcount, just so I wouldn't lose the counts for those songs  :D

my sickness keeps growing. All my CDs are done - now onto encoding my 1,000+ LP collection.

I tend to leave my iTunes going 24 hours a day, so the play counts keep going up on my playlists that I listen to just before I leave my computer in the afternoon/evening. So some of my tracks have huge play counts which and be really annoying.

I don't reset my play counts, but I guess that I should, and remember to stop iTunes before leaving my computer.

I've organized my "albums" category by naming everything with the year released eg: 1989_Paul's Boutique. I know iTunes can sort everything by year but I prefer to have all my artists albums sequentially listed. cuckoo cuckoo

Woah, you must have a pretty large HD! Do you have your iTunes library on an external hard drive?

I thought that just having to make sure everything had a capital letter in my library was bad

Yes, I got over that one quickly

I guess obsessive-compulsive disorders have gone digital then...haha
I keep the iTunes playing the whole time as well, except I stream the radio like 75% of the time, (radioioambient), so my play counts dont build up that much.

Just a few minutes ago, I was sitting bored on the subway and I found myself recomposing my top 25 list in my head, god this is starting to turn weird on me....

Watch me breakdown and put the playlist up again....
