My Air is running a bit short of space. Thanks to Software Update, I got a nice reminder that I'd installed the HP printer drivers a while back (it wanted to update them). Is there a clean way to get rid of them, both to recover the space, and to avoid the updater notifying me about it in the future? Thanks,

DH

On my system HP print drivers consume less than 300 MB of space. Your drivers probably consume a similar amount of space. Removing these drivers will not add measurably to the free space on your hard drive.

Look to things like unused video files, Garageband files, and such like. If you don't have files like this to remove, then you need to switch to a higher capacity hard drive.

The updater will only notify you for updates for installed printers. Just go to the Print & Scan panel in System Prefs and remove the printer and it should stop.
