Yeah, so I just bought a new Macbook Pro 2.4 and am looking at putting a copy of XP 32bit on there soon after I get it. However, Windows 7 is also looking pretty nice and since I'll be in college when it's released (I believe) I'll probably end up getting a copy. So, I was just wondering: How easy is it to get rid of a, say, XP boot camp partition? And when you do get rid of it, does it delete all your files and such? Anyways, just looking for some insight on the topic, have been using macs for a long time but this will be the first Intel one. :)

Child's play, once XP is installed you just open up the bootcamp assistant click continue >create or remove a windows partition > continue, yes it completely deletes everything

By default, it will just delete everything and it is a VERY simple process. I'm not sure how exactly you could go about keeping everything easily... The simplest way is just to move all the important files from within XP to the Mac partition or an external drive or something. You could also try something like Winclone. I have used it in the past to make full backups, and you may be able to preserve everything and pick and choose the files/settings you want to copy back when you install Windows 7... but I am not 100% sure that will work for you.
