Uninstalling bootcamp XP drive

I would like to uninstall bootcamp on my original dual core MP. I want to retain the data on the XP drive and place it in a Windows tower. Can I simply remove the drive from the MP bay and install a new drive in its place for MAC data? All of the bootcamp instructions tell me to reformat the XP drive. I assume there is some bootcamp intel driver/code/stuff on the 10.6 main MAC boot drive that needs to be removed. Any suggestions would be helpful.Thanks.

Yes, you can do that. It probably will not be bootable in the other machine due or mass storage drivers, but if it is a secondary drive in the Windows machine that would not be a problem.

If you did not partition your main drive that contains OS X in the Mac Pro, there is nothing to uninstall/remove. The Macintosh EFI sees the XP drive and gives you the option to boot to it. If you remove the drive, it simply won't see it and the option to boot to XP will disappear.

Thanks for the info. I was concerned that there would be some left behind consequences by yanking the XP drive and perhaps some extra bootcamp junk on the MAC OS drive to clean up. It will be nice to free up another bay for another MAC data drive.
