Hi everyone,

I'm really looking forward to getting an iPhone sometime soon! I just have a quick question.

I'm definitely planning on using the phone's email capabilities--after all, that's what iPhones are for, right?

So...here's the dilemma.

I've hooked it up in gmail so that I have two email accounts linked together: a somewhat moronically named one that I use for website fill-ins, etc., and a more professional one (my name) that I use for work scenarios.

Here's a snapshot of how it looks in the settings:

In Gmail on my computer, it's been the PERFECT setup-whenever I send an email, a drop-down box appears, allowing me to select which email I want to send the message from. Also, when I reply to a message, it lets me choose which email I want to reply from. I also have EVERY EMAIL I've ever received and sent archived from both email accounts on there.

The stupidly named email is I guess what you would call the "master" account, as that's what I use to log in with to gmail altogether.

So, how would I do it on the iPhone such that I am receiving both email address' mail, and can choose from which to reply back to? Being able to view all the archived mail from both accounts would be a nice bonus as well!

Thanks a bunch!

You would have to set up your master account and forward the second to your master account. This would allow you to have both in 1 inbox, however you will not be able to pick which email account to send emails from as it will default to the main one. Another way is to add both email account (work + play) to your iPhone that way you can send emails from which ever account you want. The draw back to that is that both accounts will be in separate inbox .

I have a similar issue!

I use my university email address, googlemail address, and personal address (linked to my own domain) - and send them all from the same Gmail account.

If anyone can find a solution to this it would be greatly appreciated!
