universal clipboard - hit and miss - solution?

2016 15" MPB and iPhone 7 Plus. Universal Clipboard is extremely unreliable. Sometimes it just works, but more often than that it doesn't seem to work at all.

I've tried the regular solutions - signing out of iCloud on both devices, turning handoff off and on again, restarting, etc... I can't get it to just always work.

Is it me? Anything I could do? Or is this feature simply flawed?

I gave up on it a long time ago. I don't think it's you. I think it's just unreliable.

Are you using AirPods at all? I was having loads of issues until I realised that when I had AirPods connected to my Mac, Universal Clipboard would refuse to work. Disconnected them and it worked.

No AirPods here. I wish I could actually buy AirPods... but that's another story. I DO have Bluetooth turned on for my Bose wireless headphones, and the Apple trackpad/mouse. Perhaps that's one too many items on Bluetooth. I suppose I could try, but I care more about the headphones than I do the shared clipboard.
